Sometimes as the fall races across the landscape, the leaves start changing from greens to gold’s and reds. A familiar crisp breeze blows through the grasses and trees. It is Apple Harvest season. Fresh cut hay and pumpkins dot the doorways, in an autumnal feast. The vanilla sugar we put away in February is heavily scented and ready for fall preserving. The old coffee grinder is grinding a batch of apple pie spice mix with black and green cardamom. Spiciness of Mace and fresh nutmeg on the micro plane transports you to an Indian spice market. From the cupboard fresh linens in fall colors grace the table. The frantic pace of summer gives way to lazy mornings and hot Irish oatmeal. Handmade tarantulas grace the doorway made from fuzzy pipe cleaners. This the time to watch scary movies and cuddle close under heavy comforters. Living in the moment requires no cash or special investment other than slowing down. Fall cleaning like spring cleaning sets your mind to look forward rather than back. Spend a moment listen to the chattering of the squirrels. watch the clear crisp sky turn to blazing evening then purple night. Revel in the moment.
