About four cups of water
-
One cup of Epsom salt
-
One cup of cornstarch
-
Couple drops of food coloring
-
Two to Four zip top bags
-
Start by boiling the water. When the water has reached a rolling boil, add in your salt. While you’re waiting for the salt to dissolve, add about a cup of water to the cornstarch and whisk until it is fluid.
-
When the salt has completely dissolved, pour in your cornstarch and water mixture and whisk quickly.
-
Within seconds it will reach the consistency of pudding. If it’s thicker than this, add a bit more water, if it’s not thick enough, pour in a bit more cornstarch and water.
-
Let your mixture cool completely and pour it into your zip top bag. You can either pour it all in one and make a big pack, or divide it into two for smaller ones. I double mine up in case of accidental rupture.
Thanks so much for posting this. I honestly didn’t know you could make your own! I will use this over and over again as my husband is a bit of a klutz. 🙂

I need to make a least one batch of this. Instant ice packs would be nice to have around. Even big people get boo-boos!
This is great! Very practical! You may not be interested, but would you consider adding a Pinterest share button? I would really like to share many of the things you come up with on Pinterest. You have really unique “creations” and the Pinterest button is now featured on the WordPress “sharing” menu. Just a thought! Debra
i have yet to figure out where to turn on that feature but stay tuned..
Hi there! Would you mind if I share your blog with my zynga group?
