DIY Oatmeal

  1. Maybe good idea, but wouldn’t bring myself to be able to make pre-prepared oatmeal. Oatmeal is too easy to make from scratch. Kind of like the pre-done pancakes sold in stores…seriously…pancakes are too easy.

      1. I think it’s a great idea for those with no time for breakfast in the am before work and a great alternative to those who stop by somewhere for coffee and a bagel, doughnut or pastry. Just keep in your desk drawer and heat up on a break or right before you start.

I like to flavor mine with a bit of jam or jelly, too, if I want it flavored and sweet. (Same with yogurt.)

I think the preprepared packages are an unbelievable rip off – price wise and nutrition wise. It’s so much more expensive than real oatmeal and NEVER tastes good. Of course, I’m the one who didn’t anyone would ever PAY for bottled water and was surprised when Windows took off and became the norm!
