ORIENTAL HAMBURGER

Chinese Dark Soy Sauce

1 1/2 pounds hamburger or turkey burger

1 medium onion chopped

2 teaspoons garlic powder

¼ teaspoon five spice powder

2 cups water

4 Tablespoons soy sauce

1 1/2 Tablespoons molasses

1 8 oz package frozen green beans or snow peas

1 8 oz can sliced water chestnuts

4 Tablespoons corn starch

1/2 cup beef broth

6 to 7 cups cooked rice (2.5 to 3 cups Dry)

Brown ground beef and onion in green onion oil. Stir in garlic powder 2 cups water, soy sauce and molasses. Heat to boiling, then add green beans and water chestnuts, simmer 10 to 20 minutes until beans are tender. Blend cornstarch and broth. Stir into meat mixture cook until thickened. Serve over cooked rice with sliced scallions.

Great with an Asian salad and Fried Wonton chips with a cream cheese crab Dip.
